Horizons at Wawayanda
The Affordable Housing Conservancy utilized funds from New York’s Weatherization Assistance Program and the Climate Friendly Homes Fund to perform electrification and weatherization measures at Horizons at Wawayanda. The Conservancy was able to provide this 107-unit, 6 building affordable housing development in Middletown, NY with new refrigerators, ventilation upgrades, air sealing, LED lighting, air source heat pumps, and electric hybrid hot water heaters.
Weatherization Measures
Air sealing around doors & windows and new attic insulation improved energy efficiency
Existing refrigerators were replaced with new, Energy Star rated refrigerators
Ventilation fans, smart switches, and range hood vents were installed to improve ventilation per ASHRAE standard
Funding from the Climate Friendly Homes Fund was braided in for the installation of hybrid electric air source heat pumps in every unit
